The world's cheapest Ferrari!

Property is always a second concern when it comes to the destruction caused by wildfires, but this auction listing by Copart shows just how violent fires can be. Judging by the location and the other cars in the pictures, this Ferrari appears to be just one of the automotive causalities from the deadly and devastating wild fires in California last year, and for some reason, the insurance company deemed this was still enough of a "car" to warrant selling it. Or it could just be a Copart publicity stunt. Either way, below is an example of what this Ferrari 458 Spider looked like before being reduced to a heap of scrap aluminum.

This Ferrar-becue is being held at Copart's Santa Paula, California location along with a parking lot full of burned out cars. While most of the other car's visible in these images are at least identifiable, the Ferrari is a heap of melted aluminum; it's just amazing they were able to move this car's remains in the first place.

About the only thing recognizable as a Ferrari is the outer portion of one of the rear wheels, which is deformed in an artistic, Salvador Dali-type fashion. Other visible pieces include the carbon ceramic brake rotors, parts of the mufflers and the trio of exhaust outlets and a few pieces of the suspension. If you look close, you can even make out the 458's mid-mounted 4.5-liter V8 engine that once produced an impressive 562 horsepower.

The auction for the burned-out remains of this 2014 Ferrari 458 Spider hasn't taken place yet, but if and when it does happen, it will be interesting to see what kind of bids this car would get. If nothing else, these images show just how destructive wildfires can be; please smoke, camp and shoot fireworks responsibly.
