Burek is probably the most popular night dish. What night out is complete without a visit to a burek shop? Of course, burek pizza cannot compete with raw or meat pizza in terms of popularity, but this hybrid of two popular dishes is not far behind the more primitive forms in terms of taste. Have you ever baked pizza burek at home? Now is a great opportunity, because we discovered a fantastic recipe.

We've all eaten at some point Burek pizza, but probably only a few of you have ever prepared it yourself at home. It is most convenient to buy it in a burek shop, and although the ones from the street are excellent, homemade burek pizza is not far behind. At least not if you tackle it according to the recipe we entrust to you below.

Ingredients for pizza burek:

  • 500 g of pulled dough
  • 250 g of ham
  • 250 g of cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 400 g of champignons (from a can)
  • 200 g of ketchup/puréed tomatoes/pelatas
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano
  • 6 olives
  • oil
  • salt
  • pepper

The process of making pizza burek:
First, grate the cheese and cut the ham into pieces. Grease the baking pan with oil and cover with two layers of dough. Spread it with ketchup/mashed tomatoes mixed with salt, pepper and oregano. Put a second layer of dough on top of everything and sprinkle with cheese. Next is a layer of ham. We settle the champignons in the next "floor". We do everything together until we run out of ingredients. Finish with at least two layers of dough and brush with egg before baking. Bake at 200 degrees for about 40 to 50 minutes.
