Over 30 international honours have been given to the Ferrari 458 Italia over its history. When the V8 was named "Best Performance Engine" and "Best Engine Above 4 Litres" at the International Engine of the Year Awards, it added two more accolades to its resume. The 458 Italia is achieving worldwide success with both the public and the press.

It is an entirely new design with a high 12.5:1 compression ratio and a maximum power output of 570 cv. It can run at a maximum speed of 9,000 rpm, a first for a road car with this cylinder capacity.

The front grille and side air intakes have a single opening in the nose, and there are aerodynamic elements and profiles that direct air to the coolant radiators and the new flat underbody. Small aeroelastic winglets that generate downforce and bend as speed increases to narrow the radiator intake and reduce drag are also installed on the nose. Two air intakes on the top of the rear wings supply air to the oil radiators for the F1 gearbox and the dual-clutch, which are located in the tail.
