Water Nymphs

Boy, these photoshoots really improved by the overseas portion of Cycle 7, didn’t they? I love this photoshoot! I loved the concept of two girls posing together in the same pool. Speaking of pools, why the hell did they freeze up the damn pool water? Aren’t pools heated? They clearly made the pool colder just to stir up drama. And look what happens…. they end up with a girl with hypothermia. Nice one producers. But back to the photoshoot, one group of girls did a terrific job, the other group did alright. There was probably only one bad photo out of the four. The rest of the girls did an awesome job. Now onto the photos!

1. Amanda

Why was Amanda eliminated for this again?! This is a wonderful picture! Her and CariDee’s group of pictures were by far the strongest. I love the way she’s floating in the water with CariDee, and I love the way her arms are positioned as well. Her face, (albeit photoshopped), is gorgeous as well. It’s not Amanda’s fault her and CariDee couldn’t finish the photoshoot fully due to the latter’s hypothermia. And it’s not her fault her face from a previous photo had to be photoshopped. Tyra just eliminated her because her sister got cut the previous week. So thus, the “twin gimmick” was over. Amanda seriously should’ve made final three, if not final two. Her strong portfolio alone totally warranted a spot that high. Stupid Tyra and her gimmicks.

2. CariDee

Even despite her hypothermia issues, CariDee still managed to pull off a beautiful shot here. I love her simple yet elegant pose, and the way she’s positioned her left arm. Kind of wish she had done more with her right arm. Her face looks strong here too, though you can tell she looks pained. But even then, she still looks gorgeous. I felt for her so much when she got so cold she had to be forced out of the water, and required medical attention. And unsurprisingly enough, CariDee ended up in the bottom two for this. Thank god CariDee was okay, and thank god she was spared from elimination here. Because our winner of this cycle deserves better than this! I mean, freezing up a pool? Really? That’s irresponsible AND dangerous.

3. Melrose

Everybody loves this picture, but I find it overrated. I like this picture of Melrose, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t really love it. And I would not have given this first call out at panel. I do like the way she’s posing in the water, and I like the way she’s posing perfectly in sync with Eugena. Her face is okay, but it’s a little vacant. I do like her off camera stare, and she does look quite young here for once, unlike her other pictures. But I’m just not entirely sold on the picture.

4. Eugena

This is yet another subpar picture of Eugena here. She looks just dead and she half assed everything far too much for me to be in any way drawn in. The pose is limp, the face is dead, and she looks like an amputee. I mean, I guess I like the way she’s positioning her hands and slightly interacting with Melrose, but that’s it. That’s the only positive thing I can say about this photo. I just can’t get over how dead she looks. It completely drags down the entire shot. Both Eugena and Melrose’s group of pictures were by far the weakest group.
