Nicole Kidman is the latest actress to speak up, in light of the unfolding Harvey Weinstein scandal.
“As I’ve stated before publicly, I support and applaud all women and these women who speak out against any abuse and misuse of power — be it domestic violence or sexual harassment in the workforce,” Kidman said via a statement released through her publicist. “We need to eradicate this behavior.”
While Kidman did not state Weinstein’s name, she has worked with Weinstein on a slew of films, including “Cold Mountain,” “The Others,” “Nine” and, most recently, “Lion,” for which she was nominated for an Oscar.
Kidman follows many A-list actresses who have begun to speak out against Weinstein, as more and more devastating accusations come out against the Hollywood producer, who was fired from his own company this past weekend. Last week, the New York Times dropped a bombshell report detailing decades of sexual harassment, and today, the New Yorker published a piece with even stronger accusations, including rape.
Today, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie came forward with allegations that Weinstein harassed them early on in their careers. In her statement, Kidman makes no mention of any harassment she has experienced with Weinstein.

Other actresses who have worked with Weinstein and spoke out against his accusations include Meryl Streep (“The Iron Lady”), Jennifer Lawrence (“Silver Linings Playbook”), Kate Winslet (“The Reader”), and Minnie Driver (“Good Will Hunting”).
