Shooting Fujifilm Astia for colour

Fujifilm’s film simulations are one of the reasons I got a Fujifilm camera. Most of the time I shoot with Acros for black and white photography (check this post about why I love Acros on grey days). But I’ve been shooting more colour recently.

I find Astia has a lovely softness to it. And renders colours beautifully. I’m traveling in Uruguay at the moment, and have been using Astia as my go-to film simulation. It’s great for travel photography, portraits, street photography, and pretty much anything you want to shoot with natural light.

Below are a few shots from Cabo Polonio, Uruguay, all shot using Astia. (All images copyright Brendon Bosworth, 2022).

If you’re reading this and you use the Astia film simulation let me know about your experiences in the comments. If you’re a Fujifilm shooter and haven’t tried Astia yet, give it a go.
