Jezersko, situated on the far North of the capital of Slovenia Ljubljana is a small village surrounded by high mountains, named after a glacial lake. Today's Planšarsko lake is a remnant of the glacial one. Jezersko became a tourist place already in the Habsburg monarchy. Due to its favourable climate it is a beloved destination for all nature and mountain lovers, hikers, bikers, families and cyclers. All-year-round destination with seasonal activities. Spring, summer, autumn: walking paths through the valley, hiking routes, cycling tours, highland and climbing paths, riding a bike, BBQ, sports activities. Winter fairytale: ice skating on the Planšarsko lake, cross-country skiing, sledging down the snowy hills, climbing frozen waterfalls and ravines.

Jezersko region is a part of "Natura 2000". A particular characteristic of Slovenia is its great diversity of animal and plant species in a small area, and its well-preserved nature. The sites are home to 114 threatened plant and animal species and 60 habitat types protected by the Habitats Directive and 122 species protected by the Birds Directive. With regard to the number of protected species and the proportion of its national territory included in the Natura 2000 network, Slovenia is at the very top of the European list.
