Nicole Kidman's Backless LBD Scooped So Low, It Grazed Her Tailbone

This has to be her most revealing dress yet.

There's yet to be a fashion risk that Nicole Kidman has taken that didn't pay off. From her plunging cut-out dress at the 2023 CMA Awards to the infamous micro-mini Miu Miu skirt she wore on the cover of Vanity Fair, the actress has been stepping outside her sartorial comfort zone with much success every single time. And at Sunday's premiere of her new miniseries The Expats, Kidman continued her winning style streak in what might be her most revealing look yet.

The Oscar-winner hit the red carpet at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City wearing a long black Versace gown that was both backless and sideless. Showing skin at every which angle, Nicole's dress scooped just above her tailbone from behind, and on the sides, down to her hips. The LBD also featured a thigh-high slit, revealing an emerald green lining and black pointed-toe heels underneath.

She accessorized with a silver watch, diamond tennis bracelets on each wrist, drop earrings, and a smattering of sparkly rings. As for glam, she wore her signature red hair down in loose waves with a center part and tucked behind her ears, and completed her beauty look with a dark pink lip and bronze eyeshadow.

While walking the red carpet, Kidman called the Versace number "quite comfortable." "It actually looks very uncomfortable but it’s quite comfortable," she told InStyle. "It looks super uncomfortable I know, but strangely enough, there’s not much of it, so it’s very comfortable."

If you don't like Nicole's look (how could you not?), it's likely that she doesn't care. Last year, she admitted on the Something To Talk About podcast that she isn't worried what people think of her and that includes what she wears. "I make the most random, crazy choices. I call it teenage choices because I don’t ever think of the consequences," she said. “I have to be made to think of consequences half the time. Part of my brain just doesn’t think like that.”

The same also goes for her fashion choices, she says. “I just try to keep in that place, because otherwise I think you get scared or worried about what people think," Kidman explained, adding: “In terms of people's reactions, I say don't tell me. I don't really want to know. It'll stop me from doing what I want to do."
