The Marvey bromance is officially over. Harvey Specter will enter season eight of Suits without his bestie and confidant Mike Ross. But after the fanfare surrounding Meghan Markle’s [now the Duchess of Sussex] real-life royal wedding to Prince Harry between seasons, we’ll be tuning in to see where Gabriel Macht, 46 – as Harvey – can take the legal drama from here, sans Patrick J. Adams’ Mike Ross and Meghan’s Rachel Zane.

‘What is amazing about Harvey is that he has a lot of difficulty with regards to change,’ explains Gabriel – who, in addition to being everyone’s favourite highly strung TV lawyer, is a husband (to Aussie actress Jacinda Barrett, 45) and father of two IRL. ‘I think it’s fair to say that to recreate Marvey in any way is going to be impossible.’ So does that mean Harvey will finally turn his full attention to Donna Paulsen? Or will he fall for newbie Samantha Wheeler?

A lot has happened since you wrapped season seven – like a certain royal wedding. Can you describe what it was like being a part of world history?

There was a fantastic moment right when the wedding party came out of the chapel and Oprah walked out, and she had this moment of ‘Oh my God’. You could see, it was like her eyes almost popped out of her head, like, ‘I can’t believe I’m here witnessing this.’ And we all felt that, but to have Oprah clearly feel that way was amazing.
