Homecoming 2019: 'As the World Turns Orange' officially kicked off Sunday, October 13 with four major events on campus.

The day began with the championship games in the Basketball Bonanza contest. Kappa Kappa Gama/Sigma Phi Epsilon took home first place in the Greek Bracket with Beta Upsilon Chi/Sigma Phi Lambda winning the Open Bracket.

This year's Sign Competition also took place yesterday with nearly 80 entries. Judges awarded first place in each of the three participant categories to Chi Omega/Alpha Tau Omega, University Commons and the American Society of Landscape Architects.

Signs will be displayed on library lawn through the football game Saturday, and the public is invited to vote for their favorite in the Phillips 66 Fan Favorite contest at okla.st/phillips66. Photos of each sign are posted on the Alumni Association's Facebook page.

The day concluded with the dyeing of the Edmon Low Library fountain and the royalty coronation ceremony. Per tradition, the 2019 Homecoming Executive Team poured the first dye into the fountain using Eskimo Joe's Homecoming cups.

Pistol Pete and OSU Alumni Association President Blaire Atkinson crowned Henry Cannon and Adrienne Blakey as king and queen in front of a crowd of more than 500. Cannon is a marketing and management major from Lenexa, Kansas, and Blakey is a plant and soil sciences and agricultural communications major from Stillwater.
