Hurrah, warmer weather is finally on its way and we’re starting to think about the perfect dresses for a spring wedding. It’s a great season to say ‘I do’, as the weather is often lovely, without being too hot, there are plenty of flowers and colour themes to choose from and you can even include some Easter treats in your day, too.

Just in case you need any more convincing, we’ve also pulled together a selection of spring wedding inspo from our real brides, below. After all, it really is a blooming marvellous time of year to get married…

Dreamy spring dresses

So, what makes the perfect spring wedding dress? According to our most recent survey, wed2b brides love a classic A-line, closely followed by something with a more bohemian feel. Both styles suit the mood of the season perfectly, as these silhouettes are comfortable to wear and look amazing with nature-inspired lace that reflects the spring backdrop. Ballgowns are also a great choice, especially ones with bold 3D florals or delicate floral appliqués that suit a garden or woodland setting.

Beachside boho

Real bride Kelly matched her striking waterfront venue with a softly bohemian Heidi Hudson sheath with a contemporary low keyhole back. "It was very different from what I had in mind," she says. "But I had a good feeling when I put it on. The open back, buttons and lace were beautiful and subtly sexy. It was like it was made for me.”

The spacious beach club venue was ideal, too, as it made the most of the improving weather. “Having been to Ibiza several times and getting engaged there, we wanted to capture that vibe,” says Kelly.“The venue had a covered pier with a gazebo for ceremonies. There were also various indoor and outdoor spaces, providing flexibility for different spring weather conditions.”

Tropical climes

If you’re lucky enough to get some early sun at your spring wedding, then an easy-to-wear sheath with lace edging is the perfect way to enjoy it in both style and comfort. The relaxed fit won't cling in warmer weather, while delicate lace softens the look. Real bride Jessica chose an elegant sheath for her elopement to Costa Rica and managed tropical jungle temperatures with ease!

“I chose Baxter, a super soft lace sheath, due to the dramatic lace back and train." she says. ”It was perfect for our jungle elopement too, given how lightweight and comfortable it was. I absolutely loved the back of the dress, which shows off all the lace detail."

Beautiful light colours

Whites and soft pastels, such as blush pinks, pale blues, buttercup yellows and light greens, all look amazing at this time of year, especially in a romantic alfresco venue where they match the surrounding colours. Elena and Marcel chose a picturesque castle ruins and simple white flowers for their day. “The location really added a layer of magic to the celebrations,” says Elena. "It didn't need much added."

Her twinkling, beaded sheath complemented the dreamy mood of the venue and made her feel totally at ease. "I chose it because it perfectly accentuated my figure," she says. “It was super comfortable to wear, and looked incredibly high-quality and special due to the pearls. I could also move, eat, dance extensively and more, and it still looked beautiful!"

Pretty pinks, whites and golds

Rhian and Gavin chose elegant white, gold and pink, complemented by navy suits for the groomsmen, for their big day in Wales. Rhian also wore Anna Sorrano’s Liesl dress because of its intricate neck detail. "The glittery detailing made it feel so special and, as soon as we added a belt and a headband, I knew it was The One.”

Food for thought

When it comes to the food, something light, like as a Mediterranean-themed grazing buffet or an afternoon tea, is a great choice for spring's warmer temperatures. You can also have fun with a selection of food vans, offering treats such as ice cream, wood-fired pizza and cocktails. Sarah and Samuel served an elegant afternoon tea for their guests, which included an array of handmade traditional desserts.

Sarah’s Elora dress, with its delicate cobweb lace and beautiful floral appliqués, also suited the romantic atmosphere and the venue’s stunning gardens. "The dress was so soft and light, and it certainly had the twirl factor I was looking for!" she says.

Blossoming love

Finally, nothing says spring like beautiful pink cherry blossom, which is why these newlyweds decided to use it as the theme for their whole day. Hayley and Jonathan married at Shottle Hall, a beautiful country estate on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire. “We started with a general cherry blossom wedding theme, and we also added some Easter treats, as it was Easter Monday, and scattered origami cranes on the tables to link to Japan’s cherry blossom.”

Hayley wore Maison, a modern princess ballgown with a keyhole back. “I originally said I wouldn't have a princess dress but I fell in love as soon as I put Maison on. I knew it was the right one. We added a belt, a glittering hair clip and a cathedral-length veil. If I could get away with it, I'd wear it all the time!”
