Thomson is expanding further its Broadband <strong>Cable</strong> <strong>Modem</strong> Product<br />

range by introducing an E-MTA, the <strong>THG540</strong>. This Voice <strong>Cable</strong><br />

<strong>Modem</strong> is an indoor MTA (Media Terminal Adapter) solution. The<br />

<strong>THG540</strong> product builds on Thomson’s successful <strong>Cable</strong> <strong>Modem</strong><br />

Product and is based on <strong>Euro</strong>-Docsis <strong>2.0</strong> Hardware specification,<br />

and the <strong>Euro</strong>-standard.<br />

Moreover, the <strong>THG540</strong>, <strong>Euro</strong>-<strong>DOCSIS</strong> <strong>2.0</strong>, will benefit<br />

from improved RF performances thanks to a world-class tuner.<br />

Enhanced with the now Thomson standard Dual-Mode feature,<br />

the <strong>THG540</strong> is a versatile product which can cope with both<br />

<strong>DOCSIS</strong> and <strong>Euro</strong>-<strong>DOCSIS</strong> standards.<br />

The cable modem is certified to work on any <strong>Euro</strong>-<strong>DOCSIS</strong> based<br />

HFC cable system and is certified <strong>Euro</strong>-<strong>DOCSIS</strong> <strong>2.0</strong> by Excentis.<br />

Dual-Mode <strong>Cable</strong> <strong>Modem</strong><br />

The cable modem is able to work with both <strong>Euro</strong>-<strong>DOCSIS</strong> and<br />

<strong>DOCSIS</strong> standards (if using the <strong>Euro</strong>-<strong>DOCSIS</strong> bandwidth).<br />

Start-Up Indicators<br />

Easy-to-use LED lights on the front of the unit show the modem<br />

status. This provides the user the ability to verify modem operation<br />

and connectivity.<br />

Internal Web Pages<br />

The <strong>THG540</strong> multiple web pages allow direct access to<br />

information about the status of the modem and to the product<br />

settings in particular privacy and security.<br />

Security<br />

Supports BPI+ communications privacy to support secure data<br />

exchange between modems and cable operator’s servers.<br />
