Well, that is just unfair. Leaving Note users to hang and wait for a phone to buy. Just to push this breaking/blowing gimmick ahead.

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2017im one of that engineer hehehe batteries are the biggest... moreI think the battery in Galaxy X is separated. Its definitely not positioned at the hinge. The worst could happened is it a very small battery.

Savor, 30 Mar 2017This will still be in beta mode just like the first Galaxy ... moreim one of that engineer hehehe

batteries are the biggest concern on foldable phones as it explodes if bent, but some manufacturer has durable batteries idk about lifespan

we are nearing the limitations of electronics on 7nm, there are research about ions replacing electrons but still have problems like micro LED. that will be the true innovation

Anonymous, 30 Mar 2017first of all let the samsung resumes alpha series. which we... moreAlpha series? It had continued as A series for a while now. Alpha is just a concept to introduce metal in their phone. You want them to resume what?

Savor, 30 Mar 2017This will still be in beta mode just like the first Galaxy ... moreThe point of a foldable phone. The internal components should be able to flexibly fold or bend to endure the constant folding or bending of the chassis, unless what these manufacturers have in mind is for those internal components to snap like a Kit-Kat

first of all let the samsung resumes alpha series. which went off midway though there was a big potential.

Anonymous, 30 Mar 2017probably an experiment whether foldable phones will replace... moreThis will still be in beta mode just like the first Galaxy Note Edge was in 2014. Production will increase by next year if it becomes well-received by users and manufacturing cost goes down.

I believe this will change the game for phablets/tablets forever. No more carrying around a tiny surfboard in your hands. I can imagine it folding out multiple times like paper. This is very hard to engineer with other components inside that doesn't bend.

This will be a work in progress. But it is still "progress" unlike the same slab design during the last 10 years or so. Check out all the phones on the site and they all look the same. I remember back in 2004-2005, there were unique designs whether clamshell, candybar, QWERTY, or slider.

S8 and Note8 are not innovation to me. The X is. It will become the more premium line over the S and Note series by next year. The S and Note has already peaked and run their course. Like a championship dynasty that can no longer get any better. Nothing lasts forever.

                                Making something new: gimmick
Making something that has already been done: out of idea
                                Apple copies everything: innovation

probably an experiment whether foldable phones will replace regular phone, if it succeed then more oem will increase R&D on foldable phones.

I most likely will not be one of the earl adopters for the Galaxy X. For now I want a good Galaxy Note 8 and that should do it go me for the next 2 years.

Sure, they can call it first-in-class or first-in-category but it might come with some critical reception
